Exactly what we were looking for!

My 6 year old daughter wears a uniform to school and I was looking for something for her to wear in the upcoming Spring. I found this short sleeve polo dress and decided to give it a try. Not sure why I chose this brand over the others (because they all pretty much look the same) but I am glad I did! This dress is perfect for the Spring weather and looks adorable on her. Although she is 6 years old she is quite small for her age (about 40 inches tall) according to the size chart she would be an XS (size guide 4-5). I followed the size chart and the XS fits her perfectly. She isn’t a dress kind of a girl but since it looked just like her uniform shirt but just longer, I was able to talk her into it and now she loves it! I would say that the only thing that I didn’t love was the fact that it didn’t come in white. Oh well! Side Note: *Of course this arrived the day before our area schools closed temporarily due to the CORONAVIRUS! Fingers crossed that that school opens up again before the end of the school year so my daughter even has a chance to wear it!!

Shrinks!

I know my daughter is tall for her age so I always buy one size up in everything that I purchased for her. This barely lasted me the school year. I think it shrank right away after one wash and could only be worn with leggings after that. I think all kids clothes should be able to be thrown in the dryer so I certainly wasn't going to hang dry this. Next time I'll purchased 2 sizes up! Other than the obvious shrinkage issue this is a great dress.

Worth every penny!

I have two daughters and we just purchased a second round of these. They can be worn with leggings, capris, bike shorts, cardigans. My girls are average sized & they fit nicely in the arms & leave a little wiggle room in the waist. They also hit right above the knee. I think they would work well for girls of many different shapes and sizes. They shrink up a little after many washings/dryings (this may not be an issue if you line dried these) - we noticed this mostly in the length. The color has maintained very well & I have been able to pass outgrown sizes to younger siblings :). Great product for the price.

Cute, but sizes are way off; way too small.

It’s a cute dress but the sizes are way off. If you’re buying this dress for a school uniform like I did, size up for 2 reasons. 1. It’s already on the short side to begin with and 2. It’s 100% cotton so it will shrink like the other reviews have stated. My daughter is almost 6 years old, weighs approximately 50 lbs. and is about 47 inches tall. She normally wears a small, but I ordered a medium because of the other reviews. This dress is the appropriate length for a school uniform fresh out of the bag, but I’m sure once it’s washed and dried it will be significantly shorter. I’ve included a picture of this red polo dress from Amazon next to a navy blue polo dress from Target for reference. The amazon dress is a medium and the target dress is a small. The target dress is slightly longer even in a size smaller. Manufacturers and designers need to keep in mind that items intended to be marketed towards buyers looking for school uniforms need to be long enough to reach the knee even after being washed and dried.

The main thing I like about this dress is that it is Amazon Essentials and I should be able to buy year round. It's very difficult to find a red polo style dress once the back to school phase has ended, unless you want to pay at least double this price. The red faded a bit faster than another brand, but just barely. Great wide dress for those with a little extra belly. My child typically wears a 10-12 The Children's Place/Old Navy or a size 8 Target Cat & Jack (they shrink a little), and this is on par with the 10-12 The Children's place/Old Navy sizing. I will likely be buying more of these dresses during the year as my kid grows.

Nice simple dress

Bought these for my grandougter for school she loves them I read the reviews and it said they wer on the small side so I ordered a much bigger size thinking I might have to return but they fit perfect the quality is good too

Adorable & Well Made, but Extremely Small

This polo dress is absolutely adorable and looks very well made. As long as you get the correct size then it's amazing. That being said, be careful about the sizing! It says that it fits true to size, but I found it to be vastly smaller than the size would imply. I normally fit Large, so I ordered an XL for safety (in case it fit small or shrinks in the washer) - but the XL is still about 2 sizes too small for me. I'm guessing an 3XL would have been perfect. Basically... I should have ordered 4 sizes up from my normal instead of 1.
