I have these in several colors. These are my daily go to shorts. Great fabric with a nice amount of stretch and the hem never rolls like other similar shorts.

A summertime staple.

Let me start off by saying I am a short shorts king. I hate anything at the knee or below. I am also on the shorter side, so having a shorter short accentuates the legs and makes them look longer. I am a 38 in the waist and I originally ordered the xxl and they fit but are a little on the larger side. So I went back to the size chart and I noticed the xl goes to a 37 inch waist. I ordered the the xl and they are perfect. I like my shorts with a more fitted look, but not to fitted to wear it accentuates the love handles. The colors are decent, I would recommend the first wash keeping the colored shorts separate just to make sure there isn’t any color bleeding onto other clothes. They came out of the dryer practically wrinkle free. So unless you’re looking for a crisp ironed look, there pretty much ready to go out of the dryer. These shorts will probably become a staple in my summer wardrobe, they are pretty easy to dress up or keep casual.

Solid quality and a great alternative to the Patagonia Stand-up shorts that they no longer make. Highly recommend.

Best shorts I’ve ever bought. Forget chubbies/bear bottom and any others. Oldest pair I have are 3+ years. But they are old enough to be beaten up and still look good. Perfect for Florida style. Very comfy

Run a little small

I really liked these but they run small I returned them and still haven’t gotten the nerve to up size yet. Got large needed an xl

So I have a medium, I’m 5,11 and 160, I would suggest going with a small because even tied these are still loose on me, other then that there perfectly fine shorts

Please may we have waist sizes in inches?

In total, we ordered four pairs of shorts in an attempt to locate one that would fit my 38" waist. Why, oh why, are sizes given in M, X, XL, XXL which depend on culture: Asian sizes are always small; American sizes are always capacious, British sizes vary. We measured what we had and discovered that: M = 32", L= 37", XL = 41" and XXL = 44". (Perhaps these are meant to be 32, 36, 40, 44?) I kept the L=37" and returned all the others for refunds. What a pain! Quality is good, fit allows for good circulation around the legs in hot weather. These are almost as good as Talos shorts which I used to buy in America from Walmart at good prices, but cannot buy in the UK. Talos used to sell in the UK but there were two varieties of which the Banglasdesh ones (I seem to remember) decomposed on first washing. The inseam measurement of 5" is ideal for short shorts and these Goodthreads shorts are the only 5"shorts available in the UK as far as I know. Everyone else wants shorts down to their ankles: madness in hot weather. I shall live in these all year round especially when doing jobs around house or garden. If I have a criticism (apart from high cost), it is that the shorts will not stay up using elastic waistband alone, but require the use of a drawstring. This makes them less comfortable for gentlemen of increasing girth. The length of this review underlines my desperate search for the last 20 years for sensible and strong short shorts rather than the fashion-driven garbage normally available in the UK.

Surprisingly good pair of shorts

Wasnt sure what these would be like as not purchased an Amazon own brand of clothes before, but these are pretty decent. Theyre not particularly cheap, given that they arent a known brand, but they seem good quality. In terms of fit, I'm 6ft 1, 195lbs and usually a 32/33" trouser waist. I went for a Medium and the fit is pretty much perfect, i do need to use the drawstring once pockets are loaded with phone and keys etc. though. Fabric almost feels like a super thick and stretchy linen type material, seems durable and comfortable. All stitching appears ok and they seem like theyll last reasonably well too, have washed a few times now and all good. 4 standard size pockets, adequate for the usual items. Ended up buying a second pair in a different colour because they were good! Only one thing i would call out, the fabric is the kind that very much highlights 'wet patches', so dont rush your shake in the little boys room or it will be pretty obvious to everyone else for a while after!

Canvas shorts

Absolutely love these shorts. I'm a 34" waist and found the medium a tiny bit big but very comfortable so opted to buy 2 pairs in size small, usually unheard of for my waist size but found these a little bit of a snugger fit which I prefer. Also, as I don't have a particularly long inside leg, the 5 inch inseam were perfect and I didn't look like an extra off 'It ain't half hot, Mum'. Pretty tough fabric, a bit of stretch, colour a touch washed out, these are bang on for holidays and the summer. (I was also lucky enough to get them when they were still fourteen quid a pair! Shhh).

Thicker and heavier than they look

These aren't lightweight shorts like many would expect. They have quite a weight to them. They are elasticated, but you need the right size as they don't expand or tighten by much. They would be perfect for a summers day walk as they look abit more like Chino shorts than othe elasticated shorts and although not too bad for lounging in, not as comfortable as I'd hoped for. I got these for both under £10 and at that price range it's worth it but I wouldn't pay the £20. Pockets have depth and they look nice and feel good quality but I prefer elasticated for loungewear and chinos for smarter occasions and these seem to fit that in-between bracket so likely won't buy again

Great quality. Generous sizing.

I'm really pleased with the comfort, style and quality of these shorts. So much so that I ordered another pair in a different colour. I don't like long shorts and for my height the 5" inside leg is ideal yet hard to find. Going by the size guide, there is no way my waist is an S, but I tried that first and they fit well. They stretch quite a way without feeling tight, and the drawstring provides fine adjustment.
