One good looking jacket
I'm not going to bore you with the zippers, pockets, inner sleeve and other details about the coat. No photos either; just visit the Amazon page for all that. My first concern with ordering clothes online is the sizing and fit. In this case, the sizing is dead on, I ordered my usual size and it was true to it. The fit was a little loose, in fact, which is perfect for wearing an undergarment like a thick sweater. As far as warmth, I quickly got hot wearing for a few minutes as I tried out the fit, so I'm quite confident it'll be fine, but it is a lighter jacket so not intended for sub-zero weather. The quilting is creating lots of air pockets which is good insulation. The quilting pattern is actually perfect and balanced seam to seam, unlike factory outlets or rejects where one shoulder ends on the edge of a line and the other in the middle (if you can envision that). I don't know about the wind-breaking characteristics as that requires the weather to participate but the inner lining and outer layer are both of a tight knit, so we'll see this winter. As for the donning and doffing: since the front is not open, you have to put it on like a t-shirt, once you get your arms into the sleeves and you head through the body cavity, it slips right on, the inner lining is very slick. Also, the loose fitting is a benefit here. Taking it off is even easier. I did like the side zippers, as it is a long coat and sitting in it is more comfortable with the side zippers unzipped, say while driving a car. The front zippers only go down the jacket's front about halfway and are re-forced by snap buttons on an over-flap. The hood has a string from tightening up around your face for protection from the cold. I would have preferred a different color than tan but Amazon Viners didn't get a choice (that I recall). At the price point you are getting a good value, sharp-looking and a well-made jacket, worth every cent.

Very big jacket, good for wearing additional layers underneath which we'll need in MN
***Jacket Warmth*** By itself, this jacket will not be warm enough to be a standalone solution in the coldest months of Minnesota winter. We have jackets like that (where I could wear a t-shirt underneath and not feel a thing), but this won't be one of those. This will definitely require a bit of layering to achieve the same level of warmth, but that's fine, because while I picked this up with the expectation it would be a looser fit (I'm a 2XL Tall) this 3XL jacket would be big even if I was 3XL. There is a LOT of room in this jacket for layering underneath, so even if you do live somewhere that gets very harsh and very cold winters this thing could do the trick as long as you pair it with a long-sleeved thermal shirt and a hoodie. Minnesota winter has so many stages, and this jacket will excel in the a few of the earlier stages like October through mid-December, but it probably won't be the go-to choice in January and February. ***Jacket Style*** In terms of style, I won't lie: over the head is NOT my preferred style, especially as a big human with VERY broad shoulders and a barrel-chest. Jackets like this are always a little bit of a pain to take off and put on in that area, even if there's a LOT of extra space in the sleeves and around the belly. I just have a bad form factor for clothing like that. It's the same reason I'll buy zip-up hoodies versus pullover hoodies. There's just a bit of weird tightness in the way these things are designed. It still fits, it just takes a little finagling and I just have to take a little care in how I slip my arms in and out of the sleeves. If you're a bit more even-proportioned or a typical 3XL or 2XL build it won't be as much of an issue. But if you know you have a broader chest (just keep in mind this is an over-the-head jacket). Also, don't underestimate how bright the "Bright Blue" color is. I usually aim for darker colors in my jackets, but this bright blue is VERY vibrant and very visible. You will stand out a little bit. The hood is nice and deep, which is exactly how I like them. I hate when hoodie and jacket makers try to save on material and attach a hood that feels like your face is sticking halfway out. I want my head to feel like it can retreat into the back recesses of a cavernous hood and this jacket delivers on that front. Honestly, if it didn't, I might have thrown it in the pile to donate it. Shallow hoods are the bane of my clothing existence. I've returned hoodies and jackets for exactly that reason. I'm all about that deep cloak-ish style hood. Probably because I'm very bald and those always are much warmer. The one downside of this jacket's loose fit is that if you're in a place with very windy winters, the looser lower half will leave you feeling a bit exposed to that wind. Compared to a zip up jacket that's a bit tighter around the mid-section and hips this thing kind of flairs out and will catch wind a bit more and send it up the coat. If you're properly layered, it won't be as noticeable. ***Jacket Pockets*** I really like the choice of pocket locations on this thing, but part of this comes from having ordered an extra size up. As a 2XL Tall wearing the 3XL the front "kangaroo pouch"-style pocket is kind of great. It lets my put my gloves and hat in there without sacrificing the side pockets for the hands or worry that by using those side pockets for BOTH storage and use that I'll lose a glove as my hands go in and out. With the front "pouch" the gloves/phone/hat can be in there while my hands are in the side pockets if I wear this on one of those pre-"dead of winter" days where it's still above zero but still a chilly day. ***Overall Value*** If you're in a southern state or closer to the mid-range of states in this country, this jacket will likely be more than enough for the kinds of winters you get. If you're in that Central to Northern Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, New England, Upstate New York, and above range, you know, the folks who get to experience true north US winters, this can still work, but you will need to layer up in the coldest months.

This is a great quality anorak puffer jacket! Runs true to size with an extra roomy fit.
My youngest son is 13 and outgrew everything he had this year in a big growth spurt, including his jackets. He's now about 5'7" and on the slim side, but I ordered the Medium for him in this Amazon Essentials Men's Anorak Puffer in case he continues to grow more by next winter. This seems to run true to size with a very generous fit, and the sleeves and torso appear long enough to not have worries if you are on the taller side. We really like the style, and it feels warm and comfortable to wear. While it's not overly heavy, it seems to work well in really cold weather and is thick and durable. I am a woman that usually wears a Medium or Large in women's sizes, and I can wear this with tons of room to spare despite being busty, too. I like that this has more style to it than your average puffer jacket, and it's well made and it feels built to last. This is in a pullover style, so the zipper does not go all the way down, and there are side zippers at the bottom, which are really nice when you want more freedom of movement outdoors. No complaints here - it's perfect for what we need for my son, and doesn't have any flaws. The brown color has a subtle sheen to it and looks super nice, too! It's very well made and looks more expensive than it really is, imo. This is more of a heavier winter jacket that can be worn over multiple layers with ease. It gets two thumbs up from us!

A winter coat for chilly weather
The jacket is incredibly warm and insulated, and has kept me comfortable in some pretty chilly Wisconsin weather. I also really appreciate the adjustable hood, which provides good coverage and protection from the wind and cold. Additionally, the pockets are spacious and secure, making it easy to carry my phone, keys, and other essentials. The zippers feel flimsy and prone to breaking, which is a major downside. I also found that the sizing runs a bit large, so I would recommend ordering a size down if you prefer a more fitted look. Finally, while the jacket has held up fairly well so far, the material doesn't seem as durable as I had hoped, and I'm a bit worried about how it will hold up over time.
