Great Waterfall Pump
The media could not be loaded. I’ve had this pump running 24/7 for over a year now without any issues. 4,000 gph is plenty for my waterfall and I don’t really notice any change to my electric bill. I saw you can get replacement parts too. I’d highly recommend this pump

Extra long cable and quiet operation
Balanced handle for easy locating of pump. Large 2” outlet with various adapters for pvc or a flexible hose connection. Install vertically or horizontally or anything in between.

Good replacement pump so far
The media could not be loaded. This pump replaced a failing oase pump I had for about 3 or 4 seasons. It comes with multiple size attachments, though for the 2” pipe already in my system I had to go buy an adapter for this pump but that only cost a few dollars. Otherwise the pump is working great as you can see in the video. I have a ball valve that is limiting the flow just slightly and the overall head height is about 3 feet, so not too difficult for the pump to push. Some of the plastic on this pump feels a little lower in quality than my previous pump but doesn’t feel “cheap” by any means and for the price seems like a great value.

Ok Pump, Misleading Warranty Statement, Loose Filter
One of the main reasons I decided on this pump vs others I was considering was the 3 year warranty. When comparing similar flow pumps with similar head characteristics, but one being a less expensive unknown brand, and this being a known brand, but the pump itself still most likely being a cheap chinese pump. I paid more for the one with a 3 year warranty vs the cheap 1 year warranty. Unfortunately the 3 year warranty claim that you will see on this product listing, as well as on the pump box, is just for the accessories that come with the pump, and the plastic housing around the pump. NOT the actual pump itself. Much like the cheaper pumps out there, you only get a 1 year warranty on the pump motor, etc. So that's pretty misleading/dishonest and will probably be enough to keep me away from this company in the future. So far the pump works fine. It's quite and it pumps. It's using 293 watts and only giving me slightly more flow than the 170 watt 3200 GPH pump I had before. So, that's not amazing. The filter cage on the pump is just sort of pressure fitted? Pushed on? There's no clips or screws or anything holding it on. If it bumps into anything, it falls off. I'm a little concerned just vibrations of the pump running could make it fall off, but hopefully the pressure of water flowing in will keep it in place? Not impressed. In all honesty, for the price you can probably do better. Or, more accurately, this pump probably isn't any better than the various pumps you can get for quite a bit less that have unrecognizable names, etc. So, I'd suggest either spending more for a better pump from a more reputable company, or save some money and get one of the cheap-o pumps that isn't any worse than this one, and where they won't lie to you about the length of the warranty.

Repalced Auqascape SFA3000 with this PAL4000
My original Auqascape SFA3000 lasted 8 years in our pond, the second lasted 3 years, then the third just over 2. I think the original was made in USA. The bearings seem to go out, getting very loud and then seizing up. The price keeps skyrocketing (nearly $900 now!) while the quality goes down. I was thrilled to find the PAL4000 for a fraction of the price. So far its quite and moves even more water. The thirty foot cord and included adapters are nice. I did not need the adapters, since I just needed the large 2" female threads on the unit. Repair parts are available, which could reduce lifetime cost even more. I will update when it dies or needs repair. Motor has shorter 1 yr warranty, 3 year on other parts. Even if this only lasts the same two years, I win since it's a fraction of the cost.

Customer service wins the 5 stars
This pump did the job for almost 3 years and then died. The impeller just stopped moving. Luckily it had a 3 year warranty and I contacted Alpine. Their customer service is the best I have had with any Amazon reseller. Generally if Amazon doesn’t sell it the customer service is garbage. Not with this company. I downloaded a warranty claim form and emailed it in. I received a response the next day. They reviewed my claim and accepted it. They are sending me a new replacement unit. This is all within a span of about 2 weeks. Pretty amazing. Their email follow up with status and tracking info for shipment was much appreciated. I would buy their products again. I think $200 for a pond pump to last 3 years is probably an ok value. I think this pump replaced a commercial pump that was over $1000. But I think it lasted 10 years. So from a cost per year basis the Alpine pump was superior.

Where has this pump been all my life?
Only had it running for a week, but so far it's a 10+. Don't know how I've overlooked this pump in 40 years of pond operation. I've always used expensive flooded suction centrifugal pumps where the motor has to stay dry, but in an enclosure below the waterline. invariably, water gets in there and ruins the motor bearings and it dies. This pump answers those problems with its submersibility. I still run it as a flooded suction pump in a dry enclosure, but the occasional water intrusion shouldn't be a problem. The volume vs. power consumed ratio is fantastic... as good as the expensive super-efficient pumps I used to use. Very impressed. Will have to see about longevity, and I reserve the right to modify the review, but I can buy four of these pumps for what I used to pay for one of the old ones.

Problem resolved
Bought this pump in May 2022. It stopped working after occasional use in September. Alpine immediately sent a replacement to save my yard party. It is great when a company puts the needs of the consumer ahead of their own. The Alpine 4000 pushes plenty of water to make my stream look like a babbling brook.
