Poor Quality and Missing parts
I’ve owned at least a half dozen hunting umbrellas over the past 30+ years. Some sold by this company (Allen), and also some other brands. I “assume” they’re all made by one company and marketed under different names. Regardless of that, they’ve all been flimsy, finicky devices at best. They’re made using lightweight materials (by design), and they definitely won’t stand up to heavy rain, wet snow, or moderate to high winds. However, if you hunt from a tree stand, ladder stand (or even on the ground), these umbrellas are an essential piece of equipment. My new umbrella arrived missing three of the six straps used to secure it to the tree. I should have received a short, medium, and long strap for each side of the umbrella. I only received straps for one side, which makes the umbrella 100% useless. Fortunately, I have some leftover straps from an older (failed) umbrella, so I’ll be able to use those in the future. The umbrella mounting bracket was also problem. The mounting disc/grip stripped the threads on the screw shaft the first time I tried to use it. Couldn’t screw it completely into the tree, couldn’t screw it back out of the tree. Useless. Of course, all this happened in the woods, in the rain! Shame on me for not doing a proper inventory and testing the umbrella before heading out hunting! Buyer beware. I’ve had similar issues with the screw-in mounting bracket with other umbrellas in the past. I was able to fix the problem by adding an additional locking nut on each side of the mounting disc, and applying a couple drops of permatex thread seal before reassembly (see picture). Chalk it all up to a crappy design, that has never been improved/perfected. However… the real question is… why market/sell a device that needs to be “fixed” by the customer before it can actually be used. Allen Company could just as easily add locking nuts to their product during assembly. As for the additional couple cents that would add to production cost…I’d be willing to pay an additional couple bucks for an umbrella I could use right out of the box. As for the missing straps…? Guess I’ll just buy a different brand next time. See if they know how to count.

Great value, easy setup
Very easy to setup. Nice packable size and weight. Good coverage over your hunting area. I was out in moderate to heavy at times rain with a light wind and this held up great. I can tell it will not stand up to strong gusts but it is an umbrella, not a semi-permanent structure! This was perfect for keeping the rain out of my face and my gear reasonably covered. Would definitely recommend for the price.

Must have for hunting!
It doesn't get much better than hunting in the sloppy wet snow while staying nice and dry. This umbrella is so useful. I have two of them. They are so light and small they stay in my hunting pack. I use them for quick pop up blinds or for tree stand hunting in rain or snow. Invaluable piece of kit! Buy one for yourself and one for your best hunting buddy. You'll be so glad you did when you hear all that rain and/or slush landing on the umbrella and not down the back of your neck.

Leaked on me
Excellent idea, very easy to carry, assemble and disassemble! Just wasn’t waterproof…… first opportunity to use it the water leaked right through the seams and I ended up wet as if it wasn’t there lol! I did buy some clear flex seal waterproof spray and coat the umbrella which worked but still disappointing I had to do that. I’m pretty sure umbrellas are supposed to be waterproof…… kinda the whole point right?

Works, but tweaks needed
Product works as it is supposed to. I've used it in light rain only. No heavy rain or snow. I would expect it to hold up pretty well, assuming it's installed well. I put two flat washers on the nuts (see pics) and tighten these down good. I'm thinking I might redo it with lock washers, as there is still a small amount of play. Also, I don't know who's getting the arm part screwed all the way into the tree without any tools. As you can see from the pics, I used locking pliers. Ain't no way I could do this by hand. I put the umbrella up at the start of each hunt and take it down when I'm done. I don't leave it up when I'm not there. The umbrella comes down pretty easy, but getting it setup in the arm can be a pain. Overall, not bad with some tweaks.

Good product.
Light. Easy to Cary. Easy to put on tree. But, the drip edge of umbrella as right at my knees. I am 5 ft 8 inches.

So small it fits in your pocket
Absolutely tiny and very fragile and will cost me £30 to send back so I'm stuck with it, not for long though as it'll fall apart, Amazon were very unhelpful

Kept me dry
Worked well, easy to install. I did leave it on the tree overnight for 4 days with some heavier winds and it was fine. Lots of comfort for the price.
