Hot coffee all day
I'll let the photo speak for itself. Poured the coffee into the pot at 7:15 AM and tested it at the end of my workday at 5:45 PM and it was still a respectable 132 degrees after 10 1/2 hours. Nothing without a heater is going to keep coffee piping hot that long but this thing makes it so I can still enjoy a cup of coffee into the afternoon without any burnt taste from a hot plate. Needless to say, I'm impressed and it was worth the money. My favorite part is the fact that the inside is glass which makes cleaning it a breeze compared to stainless steel which eventually stains and embeds stale coffee that you have to scrub off with an abrasive cleaner. One word of caution though is that coffee will leak into the handle area over time so every once in awhile you should run some hot water into the back side of the handle and shake it around to get out the buildup. I don't think any of that touches the contents but rather it seems to be from the fact that it doesn't have a perfect seal. Speaking of seal, mine also drips a little if you turn it upside down like the video review shows but it doesn't seem to affect the insulation based on my tests. What I will say since I see some more recent negative reviews is that I bought this late 2020 so if quality went down since then I can't speak on it but it's still going strong for me after over two years of fairly regular use.

Love Alfi products, flasks in partiuclar however this product design seem to be defective... Buyers' be aware!
These vacuum seals flasks are built to last usually several years and not several days or months as it has been my experience thus far. The first time I bought this item was in March of 2017. I didn't realize it was modestly priced because it had product issues. I was so excited to find what I was looking for in Alfi German vacuum flask series for a great price that I missed a fundamental issue now becoming a challenge for me and has consistently progressed ever since March. One of the flasks stopped working in less than two months so Amazon replaced it as a courtesy, marked defective. Sadly just last night the newly replaced flasks also started malfunctioning yet again which had made me frustrated even more because the second one just arrived only a few days ago. The new flask has the exact same problem with the vacuum-sealed rubber band like the seal as did the old one had. The top part of each flask depends on the design and brand is the most important part allowing the hot beverage to remain hot by keeping hot air in a tight vacuum chamber. When seal functions properly air hot kept inside kept through a compression lock mechanism that can only be described to a similar feeling of using items equipped with hdrolics. It releases hot air by pressing a gentle pressure functioning by a small amount of pressure on the small handle. The tight seal is possible through a very thin rubber band which in this case keeps popping out whenever instead of remaining in its place and keep the flasks functioning as it should. As soon as the rubber band pops out two things goes wrong immediately and simultaneously. 1- while trying to pure tea out of the flask, it comes out with a much lower pressure compared to what it should be normally. It feels almost or completely empty and much lighter than usual while still nearly full. Hot beverage turns to lukewarm and not much later warm air replaces with colder air to a point that the hot beverage is undrinkable and must be brewed fresh once again. When the slender rubber band pops out of its position hot air is not kept sealed so flask also looses its basic function to access its hydraulic pressure system built by guiding the air through a simple yet engineering designed channels to marvel the curious mind. The electrodynamic hydraulic mechanism designed to impress anyone who is looking for a superb quality vacuum glass flask such as the Alfi to use hot air pressure from inside to control the flow of hot liquid study and controlled flow without causing any burnt. While pressure skips the flask due to malfunction, flask feels empty or much lighter despite being full. Unscrewing the top lid allows hot air to skip not just gradually as the flask functioned correctly but this time it is sudden and unguarded. It pushes forward like an avalanche hitting the slopes. While hot air pushes out, the entire liquid hot beverage ionized and makes the molecules to move with the same pressure as hot water meeting cold water creating a suction. The energy stored in the bottom of the vacuum is now multiplied by many times, it not only rushes out but also flushes tea leaves usually stored at the bottom of the flask heavy saturated by hot air energy now the hot and cold air energy mix creates a suction through malfunction but also as the regular function of hot water/ air climate that used to run locomotives engines moving forward. As a result of hot air pushing hot tea out of flasks' bottom, the stored energy in the tea leaves also aided by gravity and distance depends on how fast or what angel used to put out the stored hot beverage. The energy stored in the vacuum replacing the hot it creates a dangerous situation at times, even for someone as dextrous and aware of hot air KILO Jole energy at times burned her left hand a couple of times for getting too close to the hot tea that feels like coming out a hot pressure cooker pouring out of vacuum with enough pressure not to mention heat to cause very serious burns injury . Thankfully thus far, I have been lucky enough to burn only my left hand and not too seriously either. I can only imagine what this may entail for a child trying to open the top heading to pure tea or coffee! The dysfunction can be retracted if the engineering team added a secondary curve to hold the rubber band seal from sliding out either because it's place gets too tight after hot air causes it to expand or the hot air makes the tight area slippery and due to constant water it becomes slippery. The other possibility is that the slender rubber band holding a vital position and job to perform loses it elasticity after being expanded when hot beverage pouring out and when cooled after washing the flask its elasticity no longer return back to its original version due to overstretching too many times. When the seal is not functioning, it is not just hot air pressuring to come out and causing a possible accident for someone who doesn't know the hot air carries 336 K Joel energy it cold used to be extremely useful and or leaving painful burn marks regardless of how old the beverage may be or what temperature it may keep in the vacuum seal. When no longer vacuum seals, flask may be completely full, however, it feels nearly empty. To pure out the hot beverage it requires unscrewing the top lid or it doesn't get suctioned out in a study flow as it used and should do in while Functioning normally The hot beverage quickly gets cold and as a result needs to be disposed of frequently otherwise, the tea tastes bad. When the flimsy seal is working the rubber band creates a vacuum seal shot which holds the hot air pressured inside the glass jar type space and therefore keeps the hot caged up if here was such a thing possible. When it doesn't work, hot air skips very quickly and defeat the purpose of buying these vacuum "sealed". When working it elongates the time tea can be kept hot all the way to 8 hours when it doesn't, it's only drinkable for a short while. When it works this product is amazing but when it doesn't, it is a frustrating experience trying to get a skinny rubber band going back to its original place which is not easy since the area it holds only a few millimeter in width so it just needs a new design, otherwise this will soon become a very expensive flask as my experience seems to be heading that way!

Made in China
Didn't like that it was made in China not Germany. For a German product was disappointed.

Performs as expected.
The product has performed as I expected. I have no issue with the product performance. My only complaint is that I wish it had a little larger capacity.

First one broken on arrival. Replacement works great.
The first one arrived broken. Amazon packaging or Alfi design? The replacement arrived fine (in spite of very poor packaging by Amazon, again). I’ve used it for a week. It works great. It really does keep coffee hot for 12 hours, even when only partly full. Insulation performance is guaranteed for five years! No pre-heating is required - glass is a much better insulator than stainless steel. And because it’s glass, you shouldn’t drop ice cubes into it or use it as a travel carafe. It’s a bit large for travel anyway. Apple green is a nice color. One minor complaint: the hard plastic handle is not particularly comfortable. One oddity: the instructions caution that the base screw must be checked regularly to ensure that it is tight. There is no base screw. Fine with me. I’d give the carafe 5 stars except that the first one arrived broken.

Keeps my coffee nice and hot all morning
I use a Mellitta drip cone coffee maker. I use this carafe to store the remaining 2 mugs of coffee for later in the morning. I make the coffee at 7:30 to 8:00 AM, and at 11:00 AM it is still very hot. I do prime it with boiling water. It is easy to clean, attractive, and easy to use. My only gripe is the lid, but I've had that issue with just about every carafe I've owned. Even though I take care to not immerse it in water, and I just wipe and rinse it under the tap, I still end up shaking water out of it. For the price, you can't go wrong. Update 4-16 2021: It still works great, better than more expensive ones that I have had. I figured out how to get the water out of the lid. Hold the lid with the serving lever down and depress the lever. All of the water comes out. You can actually rinse it out by depressing the lever and running tap water in the two holes on the opposite end of the lever.

Handsome, useful carafe
My coffee pot's auto off shuts the pot off after two hours, which is fine for a weekday morning, but on Saturday when I make a whole pot it's nice to have hot coffee for longer than that. I'm sure most any glass thermos would work as well, but this seems well made and handsome. Most of my kitchen/dining things are white, blue or brown so this one little flash of red is very nice.

Enfin un Thermos qui fait bien sa fonction ! La ligne est gracieuse et le bouchon efficace !

Works as advertised. I think.
This carafe holds just enough for one round of hot drinks for our family. It doesn't really need to stay warm for long, but so far it's stayed warm enough for a last mug an hour after pouring most of it into mugs.
