Special needs mom win!

I have a medically needy daughter who has soooo much equipment, supplies, and medications. Akro-Mils Akro-Bins are a time and lifesaver! I first purchased some 10 years ago and that is all I'll buy for our organization needs since then. Packaging was good and came to us while and undamaged. Score!

Seem right for my project in organizing the garage

I looked everywhere to find these in the right size for my garage shelves (no, I didn't purchase the Akro-Mills hanging system because I didn't need it). They seem the right size, and although I'd have preferred a different color, they had the best price (used/returned), and I figured that I could see the items inside the bin better on a bright yellow surface. Since I chose a used/returned item, at a huge discount, I wasn't surprised that one (out of six) arrived chipped and cracked. I decided to try some gorilla glue and clear package tape instead of the hassle of returning them and then shopping for another set all over again. My only concern, considering the cracked one, is how well these will hold up in the garage with metal, wood, tools and other heavy objects inside. We shall see. Overall, though, they seem well made, and I'm sure the expensive price tag is owing to the fact that they are made in the USA. Accordingly, I have rated these bins with what I feel are appropriate stars for their features.

Perhaps a little over priced, but useful and good quality.

This size is a good width to split down the middle with the bin dividers. I used them to replace some older ones where I had a whole bunch of things combined. Metric together with imperial tools, etc. Throw a divider in there and suddenly they have their own side. This is my first experience with this brand, and judging from the overall gist of other reviews, I feel this is a situation where they used to be beautiful, and have slowly edged into molds getting old, creating poor casts, and them not being worth the money they're asking for them. They're pretty crudely made, with lots of mold lines and flex a lot. I'll keep an eye open for some warehouse returned ones, but some of the colors are over 100 dollars for 6, and that is fairly insane when a warehouse damaged box is 50 or so and an out of stock is down to 37 for the same 6 pack, if you don't mind hopping colors. Also, it seems when they go out of stock with Amazon, it's one of those items where if you're prepared to wait a little bit, you can pick them up for roughly 35 dollars for 6, which is what I did. You'll also not have the issue with resellers selling single bins for 100 dollars if you stick with Amazon as the seller. A much much more agreeable price. At that price, 5 stars easily. But it takes some hunting and waiting.

Great Product but Clear Version Is Vulnerable

Akro has a bullet-proof reputation for effective, dependable products. I once worked for a plastics company who described "the eternal quest for a plastic that is strong as steel, clear as glass, and cheap as dirt". The only snag with this version is the inherent weakness of clear plastics (other than polycarbonate). The pigmented versions of this bin travel fine; unfortunately the clear version arrives with 1+ units per case damaged in shipping, but that's the weakness of "clear" plastics. On the positive side, we've had zero failures of the clear ones once they are placed in service. Nevertheless, unless you really need "clear", I'd recommend the pigmented versions.

Great product.

When there’s a huge amount of vitamins and pills because your not aging gracefully?!? Well get these and turn that overwhelming pile of bottle into organized totes that stack and fit in your closet! These worked great to organize the pills that make you hard, the ones that make you soft and the ones that make you numb. Lol. Enjoy
