Works , overpriced for what it is.

When you hold one you realize that what the maker charges for them is 5x over what it would cost if they were made in and shipped from China. This isn’t an $8 plastic bin in value.

Expensive, but functional ....

I had a few of these bins that I had purchased years ago, stacked up on my work bench. They did the job, but were always getting knocked over, and I had to shuffle through them to get at the contents. Then, one day I was at an auction, and I stumbled onto a bunch of the extruded aluminum track that these hang on, and bought it cheap. I went on line hoping I could get more of these bins, and was pleased to find that they still make them. However, it's a good thing I got the track cheap, because the price has gone way up on these bins over the years. Two dollars a piece is a lot of money for a piece of molded plastic! So far I have several hundred dollars invested in bins and I'm not done yet, but it's hard to beat this storage solution for convenience, ease of installation, and content visibility, so I decided it was worth the money. I covered a 6'x6' section of one wall in my shop with the track, and started sorting the roughly 20 years worth of parts, pieces and hardware that I've accumulated. These bins are sturdy enough to support anything from nails to 3/4" hardware, are easy to position, remove and replace, have a sloped bottom in the front for ease of picking, and a nice slot for a card stock label. They come in a variety of sizes, but choose your colors carefully. Some colors are much more expensive than the red ones for some reason. Here's the real shocker ... I was surprised to find that Akro hasn't changed the shape or quality of these bins one bit since I bought the first ones many years ago, which is a big plus. They match perfectly, form, fit, function, and color, which is very rare nowadays. All in all, it was a big investment, but I was sick and tired of not being able to find what I needed when I needed it. These bins will improve my productivity, and hopefully, I won't have to keep running to the store to buy things I already have on hand. I took one star away for the price, but otherwise these bins are about as good a storage solution as you can get without going to steel...

Plan ahead.. I drew temple’s so I could see if the items I needed to store would fit.

I am trying to minimize all the things I have been living with. I got very frustrated when I could not make everything fit. I decided I need a better way. I sorted everything into three piles. Things I absolutely need and will not be butting into storage is the second pile and the last is donate/Good Will/Trash. I bought two stainless shelve s stems. They boyhood’s have 5 shelves. I have a hobby that has a lot of small parts that fit together depending on what stage of a project I’m working on. I also bought the hanger hooks. Since this shelf is one end of my kitchen I hang pout and pans as well as cooking hand tools. Also items where I buy in bulk and transfer it to a manageable size. Items like flour, sugar, can soup. I have created a list of items I will look for when I get closer to needing then. (example, a rack or stand that will hold lids of different sizes.

Akro Bins are great, these aren't my favorite

I have ton's of Akro Bins, I love Akro Bins. I smile when I see them in medical dramas on TV because I appreciate quality organization. My complaint about these are mainly the fact that the edges on them line up horribly with my wire shelving rack and they won't sit flat. The larger sizes up from these don't have that problem. It's probably not this product's fault, but it doesn't make me happy. I am using them primarily while rough sorting Lego into broad categories before narrowing them down, so having 24 open bins to throw Lego at has been very useful, but probably won't be using these bins for the final storage solution.

Perfect addition to my new tool bench/cart

I saw these at "Warehouse Deals" and bought them for my new workbench. These little bins are sturdy and are proving to be very useful for organizing small parts and misc hardware, including drill chucks. They are just the right size for the top drawers and make excellent use of the space. Couldn't beat the price - absolutely no regrets. :)

Super for plastic building blocks

These work great for sorting building block parts, you know the brand I'm talking about. Each set I build gets sorted into 20-30 of these and makes building much more enjoyable for me, I really don't like hunting for parts during a build. The kids have caught on and want to use mine, watched for a sale and grabbed some here at a great price... now I don't have to share! They hang and stack very well and they quality of all 60 bought so far has been very good and consistent.

An expensive purchase, but the bins are of excellent quality. The only package price available at the time of purchase was 24 bins which was more than what we needed, but we purchased them anyway as we are sure that we will ultimately find a use for all of the bins.

In a bin, uniformity makes perfect

When the price is right, these bins are hard to beat. They are well formed, rigid and have perfect dimensions. You can fill them to capacity and they will hang where you expect them to be: no drooping. The back lip is straight and the gap is always the same, unlike some imitations. You don't have to struggle to hang them. They also stack perfectly. I'm no plastic expert, but the uniform appearance of the material when you shine light through makes me think that these guys will outlast me.

Bought a bunch for pistol mags

Bought a bunch for pistol mags. Finally, I have a way to organize them that makes sense. Just pull out the relevant tray when I'm preparing for the range, and dump them back in again when I get home. Easy. No more stacks of unsorted mags because I'm too lazy to deal with them right away...
