Exactly what I needed! Dr recommended.
My doctor actually pulled this brace up on Amazon and told me that this is what I needed for my ankle to keep it from moving around for a while. I’ve been wearing it for 3 weeks. It is exactly what I needed. Great quality, much more comfortable that the lace up unit that I was trying to wear before. This will actually fit in most of my shoes. I highly recommend it!

Didn’t use
Too big to wear with a shoe. Some may like it, we needed a shoe on.

Brace is good if sometimes uncomfortable
I'm glad I bought this as my doctor gave me nothing to support my ankle after I broke it. Yes I had a boot to wear out on the rare occasion I went out, but I needed something around the house. This brace works well. My biggest problem is getting it on. The velcro straps are so strong that they are hard to tear apart. The two straps keep getting entangled while I'm attempting to get the sides up and situated. When removing the brace, the straps are hard to pull apart with the industrial strength velcro on them. Plus it is difficult to find the end of each strap to begin pulling off. I have put a super high grade tape close to the end to help my fingers feel the tape and know the end is. But it only sticks for a month or so then I have to start over. It would be nice if the manufacturer put something on the end. If the brace doesn't slip from where I put it on to begin with, it's fairly comfortable, but not infrequently the heel part moves and changes the brace position. I would recommend this to only those people who have strength in their hands to pull the velcro apart and who have the dexterity to put the brace on to begin with.

Looks like it's going to break after 6 days of use.
I've been using this stirrup for 6 days and it already looks like the heel strap is going to wear through on both sides. I'm supposed to wear this ankle stirrup for at least 3 weeks but at this rate, it doesn't even look like it's going to last for even half that amount of time. The only reason I'm giving it as many stars as I am is because it does help keep my ankle from rolling side to side, which is the intended purpose for me. If you follow the instructions and adjust the heel strap for your foot/ankle width, it's not uncomfortable at all (at least it wasn't for me, but my ankle is not swollen). If you adjust it too narrow for your foot/ankle it's very uncomfortable and rubs after a short time. Overall I feel like it's not worth the price at all. It feels almost like a single-use disposable item to me. I don't see how this is going to last me another 2 weeks or more. For the price I paid, I shouldn't have to buy another one (or possibly 2) just to get me through a 3 week recovery period. I definitely would NOT buy this again.

Heeling my tibia tendonitis
I have a tibia tendonitis problem and it is keeping me stable. I wear a long sock on my calf, compression sock for my ankle and arch support, orthotics in my shoes and also have this brace on. I'm able to walk and heal my partial tears in my tendons. I wear this 24 hours because I need a month to heal. This is less expensive than purchasing a full boot. Also check with your doctor if this is the right item to buy.

Good support - Hard to make it comfortable with swollen ankle
Definite support but not as comfortable as I had hoped. After seeing the doctor, I ended up in a boot with a broken ankle anyway. After the boot, the doctor put me into the Breg lace-up ankle brace which was much more comfortable around my ankle.

Stability
My son has CP and this helps him walk with support, but not too much. Seems better than the old type of AFOs that were stiff, cold, hard and not forgiving that he had to wear when he was younger. My wife has several issues with her ankles. The supports give her endurance and helps relieve the pain of her various conditions that can not be operated on and changed. They both seem satisfied and happy with the product and they are easy to buy here on Amazon. We waited for a time before commenting on this product, as medical issues take time to show the improvements and just what they can do if used correctly

Cushy and Supportive
I have a pretty nasty sprain with some definite ligament damage; Grade 2. I fell about 4 feet bouldering but landed on the padded floor with my foot sideways. Grippy shoes on grippy floor equals nasty sprain. My swelling has been pretty bad for the first few weeks. I am still on crutches, but am starting to put weight on the foot finally. I haven't been able to use a brace because the foot swelling and pain sensitivity has been too great. Only ace bandages and ice packs. Yesterday I tried a brace, but it was too hard and painful to wear. Today, my swelling has gone down much more finally and this Aircast is just what the doctor ordered. As soon as I got this about 20 minutes ago, I put it on. Very comfortable and I already feel better with the added support over my ankle wrap. I like that I can still move my foot up and down, just not so much laterally. The added stabilization will help my injury heal faster. Definitely worth the meager $35 or so for this. I don't need to wear shoes since it's summer in LA. Flip-flops for me. As soon as it heals more and I am back to a bit of cycling and climbing I'm going to switch over to my Bauerfeind Malleoloc which has more support but is much thinner since it lacks the airpadding.

Instant relief for sprain/rupture ankle ligament
Ruptured ligaments or sprain, whatever you do, do not fall in to the "pressure bandage trap". The aircast supports and stops any rotation which is what causes the pain. As soon as I started using this, INSTANT relief of ankle pain when I had ruptured the ligament (like the worst possible sprain). This ensured that my foot could move up and down but zero "twist", meaning I could walk and drive without any discomfort. I am not a doctor, but this was recommended to me by a sports specialist and cannot recommend highly enough
