Great product AWFUL CONSISTENCY! ....

I rarely write reviews but had to given the price point and frustration. The consistency of this cream is literally that of water, you cannot hold it in your hands at all. Upon opening on the first use, I wasted and spilled a significant amount down the sink cabinet and onto the floor (see photo). I was not expecting water to come pouring out, despite shaking it prior to opening. It was always somewhat watery but seems to have gotten significantly worse. I will more than likely transfer this to a spray bottle and dilute with water. It's impossible to use as a cream without wasting product. Please be aware of that so your money doesn't slip through your fingers (literally). I will update this review with a video next time I use it for reference While I'm very happy with the results on my hair as a product, it's awful and not logical to be sold as a cream. Hopefully the brand will rectify this for their customers in the future. No one would be happy to spend $30 on a hair product only to lose 1/4 of it onto the ground.

Did not expect to like so much

First product I tried from AG, and I was pleasantly surprised. Yes they are considered a bit more luxury product, but that is NOT a guarantee that it works any better than drugstore products. I’ve tried SO MANY curly hair products, and this one checks the boxes. Nice scent, not too heavy, good consistency, a little goes a long ways, no crunch but great hold. Cute packaging as an added bonus. Give it a shot, doubt it will disappoint.

I’ve been using this product for quite some time

I’ve loved this product for so long but ever since the product changed, it’s much more like pouring water into your hand and less like a cream consistency, which sucks and makes using this product very messy and inconvenient. I figured it was a fluke and something must’ve went wrong with the handling when I first got it at this consistency, but it has been the same with every order so I’m sure they changed the product and not just the label. I’m not sure if this was a maneuver to make their product sell faster because you go through it sooner, but I will not continue to get this product because I’m my opinion it’s not worth almost $30 to get watered down product.

Nice product, didn’t do it for my hair

This product smells great, is lightweight and has pretty packaging. Sadly it doesn’t do much for me. I have super thick, long hair and was hoping to see more natural curl definition with the product, but I didn’t notice any difference after using this :(

New collection is a different

I am very disappointed that AG changed the formula to this product. This used to be my favorite styler; but now with the new formula, it is watery and my hair doesn’t look the same. I just thought I got a bad one but when I saw the reviews I now know it changed. Very disappointed.

One and done! My new favourite product

I have very thick, dense, coarse 3C hair tut requires A LOT of hydration. I often have a great deal of difficulty giving my hair everything it needs and using the right amount/type of gel and avoid the sticky gel feeling. It's all too much!! I am extremely impressed with this product because it's literally the only product i used today and it made a really strong caste while giving my hair lots of moisture. It was easy to brush through as well. Im really happy with this and looking forward to testing it some more.

Best curl cream I've ever used

This curl cream, combined with an extensive hair styling routine and a few other products (including the AG leave in conditioner), has netted me better results than I've ever had in my 30+ years of dealing with my thick curly hair. Now my hair is currently very bleached so my curls aren't as tight as my virgin hair, but these photos are day 3. Meaning I styled my hair 3 days ago and haven't had to do anything to it since for it to look like this. To me, this is amazing.

Underwhelmed

I usually use AG recoil with good results, picked this up on sale after reading so many rave reviews. My hair is fine/low density, 2B mixed pattern waves and some curls. This isn't a "one and done" for me as I've seen some people say. It does hold the frizz down but my hair lacked any volume and fell pretty flat by day two. The second time I used it I layered gel on after and it was a bit better, but still flat and a bit stringy by the end of the day. The scent is quite strong and doesn't dissipate, it sort of smells like medicinal herbs and is reminiscent of essential oil products from Saje.

Not impressed at all

I have heard about this protect in YouTube videos and social media so I decided it was worth the try. My curl type is 2c and I have medium hair type. The product was terrible, if left my curls like strings and dried them out( even though I applied leave in conditioner). I decided to give it a third try by using less ( thought I have maby used a lot ) but the results were the same, stringy weird texture like putting cheap gel. I seriously don’t understand the hype about this product. There are far better products out there.

Expensive but worth it!

I love this stuff it defines my curls very well and you don’t need to use much after a wash. Just wish it was slightly cheaper :) would purchase again though since the tube does last me a very long time! The last one I purchased lasted me from November 2021 until June 2022.
