First one came scratched and was crooked. Second one won't work with smart plug.

The first one of these arrived with scratches on the acrylic shade piece and a few marred spots on the base. It also stood crooked, leaning off to one side. So I ordered another one and it definitely looks much better, stands straighter, and has no scratches. I do like the appearance of this lamp. It's very attractive. But I'm still disappointed, as the first lamp worked with a smart plug so it could be turned on and off with Alexa (important for my vision-impaired husband). The new replacement, however, will not function with the smart plug. If I turn off the lamp with Alexa, it can't be turned back on with her. It flickers and goes back off. So then the light must be turned on again by tapping the power button. Argh!

Bulb is not replaceable

I've had this lamp, that I love the look of and the dimmer capability, for 3 years and the light ("bulb") now flickers at any slight dim setting (started at 2 years of having it)...so disappointed the light is not replaceable in the lamp, and now the dimmer is useless. This isn't a cheap lamp, so, very disappointed.

Not quite tall enough

It wasn't quite as tall as stated. If you make it 19", it's not angeled right for a desk. We're a little disappointed, but will keep it.

Nice lamp poorly packaged

Overall it's a very nice lamp and I'm glad I bought it! I LIKE: - Nice and bright; light is pleasing to the eye - Looks handsome on my desk - Flexible positioning - Dimmer switch allows me to adjust the brightness - 9 watts - wow that's a lot of light for so little electricity! - Casts a cool shadow behind the lamp due to many LEDs making shadows off the support arm I WISH: - Packaging was better (not the Amazon packaging - that was great - but the manufacturer's package). Be prepared to clean Styrofoam bits off of everything in sight. The base is encased in Styrofoam which pretty much disintegrated and left bits everywhere - what a mess! - A tiny screw which holds the plastic light shield in place had come off. Fortunately I found it among the Styrofoam bits and was able to put it back - The plastic light shield was marked up; fortunately it was not scratched and a bit of Windex took it right off - It would have been nice if the plastic light shield was glass, it slightly cheapens the look of the lamp I took off a star for the "I wish" items but still think it's a good purchase and would recommend it.

Makes a good piano lamp.

Product arrived intact and as described. We really like it on the piano--the base fits behind the music rest, the arm reaches up and over the music book, and the lamp head can be angled downward so it shines on the page and not in your eyes. The style and finish look sorta elegant. The dimmability is very helpful. Most often we use it on the lowest brightness, but occasionally it's handy to crank it up fully bright. The dimmer knob however is substandard. The brightness increase is jumpy as you turn the knob. And the knob has come off several times and has been hard to keep in place. Also, the lamp head is not level as you look at it from the front--tilts down to the right. I can straighten it by bending the frame with moderate force, but it keeps coming back.

Very nice LED light for a piano

My wife needed a good quality LED light for her upright Steinway R piano. The ability to articulate this light on the music and not in your eyes is fantastic, however the base is not heavy enough to support the light when it is lowered and fully extended. That’s the reason for subtracting one star. I had to remove the base and add 150 penny’s to provide substantially more weight to the base. I stacked the penny’s 8 high in four rows, then used electrical tape to hold them together. I placed them into four rows then put the plate and felt bottom back in place. When you remove the felt there is two Phillips head screws to remove the plate. It was very easy to do if you’ve ever built a model. Now it works perfectly for our needs. Photos have been attached!

Lovely lamp, highly recommended

This is a beautiful lamp that is perfect on my console piano. I like it even more than I had anticipated, and it enhances the look of my piano and the room. It was packed so there would be no damage to the finish or parts. Based on other reviews, I did read the instructions that came with the lamp and had to put in a small screw with a special tool, both of which were included. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and it took only a minute. On my particular piano, I set the lamp base at the back of the piano top closest to the wall, and the lamp head extends out over my music. The adjustable arm is high enough to clear my tallest music book. The dimmer works perfectly so one can adjust the brightness of the light. At the brightest setting I can read my music easily in a completely dark room if needed! The lamp head is wide, and the swath of light is wide enough to light up several pages of music set next to each other. The only unfortunate thing is that the lights are not replaceable (as far as I can tell). I will hope they are good for the thousands of hours they are supposed to work!

Plastic piece makes the lamp look cheap

I bought this for my new digital piano. The size is perfect but i failed to notice in the product picture the acrylic piece attached to the light part. There was a stain on the base that made me think maybe this was a returned item. It’s slightly lopsided, not as bad as one of the photos in the reviews. For over $100 I expected more. I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to return it.

NIce natural lighting that is easy on the eyes.

Great lamp with natural lighting, adjust very well to any upright piano. I suggest Amazon check with the manufacturer about this: the description from Amazon says that the LED light will last up to 50,000 hours - the tag from the manufacturer attached to the light says the LED light will last up to 30,000 hours - this is a big discrepancy and could be considered false advertising.

Was damaged and I am returning

The lamp just came and I was so excited to use over my piano. However I will be returning as it is badly scratched and has a dent at the switch button. Looks like it would have worked well for me but I’m not keeping damaged goods that I paid $168 for.

The best most reasonably price lamp that is tall enough to light up my sheet music on my Clavinova. Anything remotely similar in function is atleast 100 dollars more money.
