Good brace, not crazy about the laces or color
I have been using this style of ankle brace for two years now as a colligate athlete. Each time I buy the brace, they easily last a year before they are beat up and need replacing. This year, I was disappointed to find that active ankle no longer produces this brace in white, so the ankle brace will now stand out more against my white socks, shoes, and knee pads that my team requires. It’s not the end of the world, but a little disappointing as I had been able to blend it in the past. The laces on this years model seem tougher than last years, which is probably a good thing as they will not fray, but I have never had an issue with that in the past, and it makes them harder to tie and untie.

MedSpec ASO Better or Active Ankle T2
I bought this and the MedSpec Aso, and while both are good, the MedSpec Aso is considerably better. It has much better support and grips your leg tights. Just seems to have a better build overall. I do have to give credit to the Active Ankle for being a bit more comfortable, but that's probably due to it not gripping as tight. I mainly ordered this one, so I could wear it while wearing a shoe. But the MedSpec Aso fits just as easily in a shoe as this one, so I'm probably going to return the Active Ankle. I have heard great things about their other products, but if you're looking for a strong ankle brace that works in and out of a shoe (without the hard pieces like the Active Ankle T2) the MedSpec Aso is the better choice. Notes about the MedSpec brand though: No Returns so make sure you're confident in your choice. Choose a size smaller than their recommendation, for a better tighter fit. Numerous people said they run big, so I chose a size smaller, and it worked out great. In hindsight, I probably would have gotten the Active Ankle T2, but my size didn't have the One Day shipping available (which turned into 2 day shipping regardless, so fair warning 1 Day Amazon Shipping is pretty hit and miss), and the MedSpec not having returns pretty much stuck me with it. But it is still a very good ankle brace

Great for preventing rolled ankles
I rolled my ankle something fierce and felt the tendons pop and give way. Since that happened on 4/1 my ankle is healing and still feels floppy. I wanted something to prevent it rolling when doing yard work or somewhere with not-so-flat ground. Put this baby in and tried to simulate rolling my ankle and it won’t go in that direction at all. No compression in this though so I wear it over a sleeve I got. But for the purpose I bought it, it’s great!

I don't know how it works, it just does.
I was skeptical, but the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I have to admit, this 'brace' is pretty amazing and worthy every penny - versus purchasing new shoes or similar. I was having ankle/flexor pain since starting my workouts at Orange Theory fitness when on the tread mill. Figured it was an ankle support issue and researched shoes, braces, and other items that would relieve the onset of pain when on treadmill. I looked at 'supportive socks', but came across the AS1 Pro ankle support. Very easy to use once you figure it out - which is fairly easy. You must read the directions, or it won't make sense on how to get it on and off, and lacing it all together. After two uses, I have it down and its super easy - and effective. 5 Stars, highly recommend, and would buy again.

player as best I can
I have a legitimately busted ankle, multiple torn ligaments and tendons, two small cracks. I bought this brace to buy me some time and put off surgery as long as I could whilst I try and continue my life as a father, coach, player as best I can. I wear a size 9 shoe and bought the medium brace. It works great if it just a little big. It is not loose at all but rather I fully lace it and fully wrap it with no extra room. I have tested the brace in at full speed (at least for me) and have not turned my ankle again. I would 100% recommend this brace but with the caveat that it might run a little big. It is also comfortable and fits in my shoe and those are a big plus.

Poor quality of materials, poor fit, doesn't provide much support.
I've had this brace for a couple months now. I wanted to be sure I knew how well it worked before reviewing it. I bought this after suffering an ankle sprain. Shipment was delayed because of the pandemic, which is totally OK, but which meant I had to find one locally for use while waiting for this brace to arrive. This gave me a good opportunity for comparison. I wear a size 11.5 (US), which is not represented on the sizing chart here on Amazon. The listing did not specify whether sizes ran small or large, and I really needed the brace, so I ordered an 11 and a 12. The 11 is barely big enough, and the 12 is too large. I wound up using the size 11. The support straps attach near the bumps on the ankle (which I believe are called the malleoli), wrap around the front of the foot, and come up on the same side of the foot to attach with velcro. The brace I bought locally worked the same way--but the straps attached much lower on the ankle, almost under the foot. As a result, the brace I bought locally provides much better support, while the Active Ankle brace is barely adequate. This might have been less of a problem if the brace were available in the correct size, but I kinda doubt it. The Active Ankle brace is somewhat more comfortable than the more supportive brace, so the Active Ankle brace might be adequate for more mild sprains, and might make a good backup--except that the quality of materials isn't very good. I've only used the Active Ankle brace a few times--maybe 8 or 10 days total--but the loop portion of the velcro is already starting to come apart. It's all fuzzy, and I don't expect it to last for more than another 8 or 10 uses before going bad completely. My sprain's pretty bad, so the lack of support might not be an issue for minor sprains or for prevention of injury. If it wasn't for the poor quality of the velcro I'd recommend this as a backup, but as it is I doubt this'll even be much use for that.
