Nice upgrade, HARD to open & close
I upgraded my old 2" coupler to this beefy one as trailers make me nervous and I want to add strength where ever I can. This did the trick!!! I want to mention that the spring-loaded feature is kind of pointless. I have been forced to use a hammer to get mine to close on the ball (yes I removed pressure against it), the spring is not strong enough to close it. Also, I have to use the claw end of the hammer to open it. I am hoping this will loosen up over time but I won't complain too much about a couple that wants to stay attached!!! ha ha ha UPDATE 5/10/2020: Over time I have discovered if I keep my hand lightly pulling on the unlatch lever while jacking up/down my trailer there is typically a moment where the pressure does release on the lever and I can open and close the couple with ease. Hopefull no more hammers...

The second one I've owned
I found these for a few dollars cheaper on another site, but it didn't have prime shipping. I grabbed this one from here and never looked back. It arrived early and was a perfect fit save for the two holes. They are drilled out to 1/2" (13mm) but I needed them opened up to 5/8" (15mm). It's a solid piece and looks good. I had one on my last trailer and it held up as long as I had the boat. Hopefully this one does as well.

Very Robust
This thing is skookum!! I like that the ball can drop in without having to disengage the latching mechanism, as other buyers have stated the plating is not the greatest. I have cut the bottom half of an old 2 5/16 ball that i had laying around to make a little sphere and i lock it in the receiver and throw a 5/16 long shank hardened steel master lock in the pin hole and that's the best lock your gonna get!!

Welds were good but like another reviewer experienced the thing came rusted
Mounting holes are 9/16" instead of 1/2". Also the holes are offset slightly downward and spaced closer vs my original Fulton class 4 coupler. For this to work I would have had to open the holes on my aluminum tongue trailer and shim between the coupler and tongue, otherwise there would be way too much slop and the holes on the tongue would become elongated over time. I realize this coupler is overkill for my 7,000 gvwr aluminum trailer but I wanted to reinforce the tongue and utilize the third set of mounting holes. Also went with this one vs the 2 inch ball version because it was cheaper and prime eligible. Welds were good but like another reviewer experienced the thing came rusted. I'm sure it would still last forever as it's a heavier gauge steel channel. Also I could not find any markings for country of origin.

Great latch
This is probably one of the best ball latching systems available. It latches open in a way that is very obvious and won’t be forgotten. It is by far the most expensive coupler, but made in USA and cast steel instead of stamped sheet.

The Best hitch I could find on the internet.
Took off the old hitch and installed this one. Old hitch was 2" and this hitch is a 2 and 5/16. Now all my trailers are the same size.... no more worrying if I installed the correct ball for the hitch. This hitch is well man and works lots better than my old one.
