Both beautiful and functional
I have been in love with this watering can. I’ve had it for a couple weeks now. I set it next to one of my plants for awhile, and ended up liking the way it looked. Instead of tucking it away after use, it is now on display. I have not seen any rust or leaking, but will update my review if it becomes an issue. Very sturdy and well made. Best Amazon purchase I’ve made in awhile.

Nice design...but poor quality brass allows immediate rust!
The design of this little watering can is excellent. It holds a reasonable amount of water, the half-moon shield over the filler area allows for complete pouring of water with no filler spillage. The spout is angled nicely, and of the proper length to guide into foliage. The can also has good feel and heft, and is aesthetically appealing. A significant con lies in the fact that this can begins rusting almost immediately after use. Yes, one could theoretically completely dry the can off after each use, but in practice this drying cannot be wholly accomplished as it is very difficult to get a rag or paper towel inside the filler hole due to the filler hole's small size and shape. Of course, brass "CANNOT RUST"...which leads one to challenge the purity of the brass itself. If brass contains any iron bearing particles, then those iron areas CAN (and WILL) rust. This watering can, made in India, is obviously made of lesser quality brass containing significant iron bearing areas. This tramp iron is very apparent, as the rust that occurs does so immediately and is strictly confined to those areas containing iron. All in all, this can represents a good design with a lousy execution. After all...it is a watering can...and it will go through the wetting / drying process repeatedly. If the can was $10 or so, I would not be so critical...but appreciating the price of this can, the can represents a poor value. Update February, 2016: This little watering can has now been in 3+ years of near daily use. The can is a delight to use...good balance, no drip, adequate volume, etc. The rust spots I mentioned in my initial review still exist, but have not grown in size or number. Accordingly, I've increased my rating for two stars to four stars. Why not five stars you ask...answer: primarily due to cost: In today's global economy, and appreciating the myriad array of brass items available, this can should not cost it's $40+/-.

Beautiful vintage brass indoor watering can
This gorgeous vintage brass watering can is a Christmas gift for an accomplished Master Gardener friend who grows the most magnificent plants - both indoor and outdoor - in the desert southwest. She lacked an indoor watering can and this one will be both useful and look lovely in her Asian inspired home when not in use. The package arrived on time and the condition of the watering can was as promised. I polished it with brass cleaner just enough to bring its luster back without damaging or eradicating its natural dings and signs of aging. I had looked for the perfect can for hours before finding this one. I is enchanting, charming and full of authentic character. I love it and she will too.

Love it
This is a sturdy, good looking, well balanced watering can with a lovely long spout that lets me get the water at the base of my potted plants without spilling. I do not store water in it and have not noticed any problem with interior discoloration. It is also not so large as to look obnoxious in my dining room plant stand. I love the looks and the function.

Super nice, quality watering can.
This is a nice, heavy, polished brass watering can with smooth welds, an excellent finish, and an elegant, classic design. It should last forever. It would make a lovely, thoughtful gift. It's perfect for watering my smaller houseplants.

Beautiful and functional!
I ordered this after having several watering cans that I disliked. From the product description and the photos, it seemed like it was more like what I had been looking for. My previous watering cans all had one of two problems: they either dumped out water way to fast on my plants or they rusted/broke. This watering can is perfect! I mean, it's a watering can, not the cure to cancer, but I'm still strangely excited with it. For one, the water pour is so controlled that I can just barely drip water on my small cacti and the spout is long enough that I never have trouble navigating leaves, prickles, or anything else. And it's beautiful! It has a very slight patina that you can't really see in the photos, and its so pretty that I like to display it with all my plants instead of hide it in the pantry. It doesn't hold a ton of water, so if you're watering a lot of plants, you'll have to refill it frequently. That's the only possible downside. But since I have a succulent and cacti garden, it's not a problem for me. Buy it! It's great!

Beauty and Function
The water can came bent at the spout. Good thing that the brass is soft enough to bend back straight. Now it’s sitting beside my first houseplant. Isn’t that adorable? I am happy I bought it. Five stars are for it’s beauty and functionality. Now, am afraid I might overwater my plant because I am always tempted to use it everytime I see it. :)

Looks great and no quality issues so far
I was a little hesitant to spend this much given mixed reviews, but decided to give it a try as I couldn't find another watering can I liked as much as this one anywhere. It arrived super fast and looks beautiful, exactly as pictured. No quality issues I can see, there are no holes or leaks, works fine, and looks great on my shelf.

I got it when it was on sale half price. It's great! Looks very cool in my house and it works just fine for my houseplants, with no leaks or trouble. Being thick metal, it's heavy, so maybe it's not the right fit for the elderly or those with arthritis. It's more of a gold colour than I expected. I wouldn't have paid the full price for it however (80 Canadian), as it /is/ just a watering can. I think I'll have this a long time. Happy overall!

Expensive, Broken and Leaks!
I splurge, I paid about $70. I got a leaking damaged watering can. So sad! Damage appears to have occurred before shipping as the damaged item arrive well wrapped with no damage to the box or packaging. I am so disappointed! When you go to water, it streams out the hole in the spout!

Cute!
I received the item in two days, and noticed that the product was not in the best workmanship, but I was not surprised, since it was made in India. The soldering was poor and there was a couple of missed soldering on the half-moon shape of the opening, the feature where if you tip the water out, the feature would stop the water from overflowing. As well, there was a pin size hole in the body of the watering can when I put it against the light. So...I returned the item and the very next day, a new watering can came and again, the workmanship wasn't all that great, but at least there were no holes anywhere for water leakage. I received some great comments by my co-workers and I started watering the office plants right away. I'm very happy with my purchase and right now, it's sitting at home near my plants reading for it's next action.
