Great deck umbrella cover

We use this umbrella cover to prevent discoloration of the umbrella and to protect it from the elements. Works well for a couple of years and then it wears through and gets tears and holes. But, I feel we have gotten our money’s worth of protection at a good price. We usually use gorilla tape to affix a plastic mailing square along the top and inside section of the cover and that way, the cover won’t be poked through at the top by the umbrella. We also use bungee cords to wrap around the cover which prevents it from flapping around in high winds. It looks fine and does the job.

Durable

This is my 4th purchase of this cover. I have 2 huge cantilever umbrellas. This cover is the most durable of all the other cheaper ones I have tried. You get what you pay for. This is durable, but not for a lifetime. Over the years the freezing cold Temps do make the canvas crack and weaken. For some reason all mine split at the very top. I have patched one so I'll see if that increases the longevity.

Great cover to extend the life of an umbrella but difficult to put on and take off

I have only been using this product for about a month now and just like the other covers I have purchased from Veranda. The material is thick and feels like it will last. I have some Veranda patio set covers which ive owned for a year and use year round even in the harsh winters and it does the job. No water penetrates the material leaving the underneath dry. There are air vents as well which allows the inside of the cover to breath. Getting back to this specific umbrella cover, the only reason why I didn't give this a 5 star is because it is a challenge to put the cover over the umbrella. I am 6'1 and it is difficult to take the cover on and off. The two methods I use to take it off or on is to use a pole (well rake) and use this pole handle to drop it over the umbrella. The other method is that I step on a storage bin to take it on and off. As the umbrella is probably about 8 feet in the air there is definitely some sort of help that is required to take it off and on. There is a zipper that you can use to help assist you. I think i would give it a 5 star if they somehow stitched in a pole that was built in to help assist you in taking the cover on and off. But then again the cover appears to be good quality which I believe will definitely extend the life of the umbrella which is why I purchased the umbrella cover in the first place. so maybe I should rate the product a 5 star but beware of the inconvenience of using this cover but It should extend the useful life of your umbrella! I would rather be inconvenienced a little and not have to replace the umbrella so soon.

I bought this umbrella cover a while ago but it was still within the warranty period when it ripped. I had never sent in a registration card so I wondered if they would honor the warranty. I decided to take a chance and contacted Classic Accessories to let them know the cover had ripped. Being in the Pacific Northwest we get a lot of rain and pretty hot summers so the cover has been through some pretty bad weather. The company was super prompt about returning my email. They quickly provided information where I could file a claim online (which was extremely easy). I sent a picture of the rip, the part number from the tag and when it was purchased on Amazon. Low and behold, within about 10 days they sent me not 1 but 2 brand new covers!!! I’m not sure if it’s possible to have a material that will last forever and not get dry rot so for the quality and durability I have to give it four stars, water resistance a solid five stars, and for the company’s customer experience, I give 100 stars!!!!! Thank you Classic Accessories! :)

Should come with a step ladder.

I like the umbrella cover. In fact I like all the covers I have purchase from this source. However I’m try to wrap my head around the purpose of the padded handles. It’s not like you can pick up your furniture with them and I don’t even think about using them to lift the covers off the furniture. Anyway back to the step ladder statement. I bought these covers because they are to protect my purchases from the elements. If I wanted to take my umbrella down to put the protective cover on it, I would just take the umbrella and stick it in the garage. My furniture stays out in the elements hence all the covers. There seems to be an issue with putting the umbrella cover on to the umbrella while it is in place. However I do have a handle at the very top!??? I can’t reach it, but it is up there. What if you were to sew a long narrow pocket on the outside of the cover running along side of the zipper maybe start at the top and run it down four feet. Leave the bottom open on the pocket but close off the top and reinforce the top. Make the pocket wide enough for...oh...a broom handle or a piece of pvc that the customer could place either in the pocket and lift the cover over the top of the umbrella. You could even have a way the customer could close the bottom with a snap or Velcro so the could leave the device in the pocket. I know it would be easier for me! Oh and maybe use some of the handle material to do it

Material doesn't hold up to the sun

This was a decent looking piece when it arrived. I purchased it in June of 2020 and by the same time the following year, the fabric had torn at the top and was considerably deteriorated due to the sun. This cover has now completed failed with the entire upper portion split open completely so it is now trash. Given I live in upstate NY in one of the cloudiest cities in the country, I can't imagine how this would survive in a sunny location. I should also note the lift rod that came with it is just cheap pvc pipe with connectors that makes it super flimsy and nearly impossible to use to reinstall the cover. I ended up using an alternative for installing and removing and tossed the pvc pipe system. I just ordered a different brand to replace this and will see how that fairs. I don't expect it will be any better but it was half the price of this one.

A long rod needed to lift the zippered opening over the closed umbrella and stand. Not waterproof.

Top subject to wearing through since it is resting on the top of the umbrella stand.

Great quality fits huge umbrellas!

Just received today, it fits perfectly. Quality is definitly in the fabric and zippers. They give you a long string for the zipper pull this is very handy. Was super easy getting the cover over the umbrella. I like that the cover is wide enough to allow the umbrella pole to be covered as well. Pretty sure my umbrella is 13ft and works perfectly. Would buy this brand again. In a few months Ill update my review.

Impossible to get over the umbrella

Nice heavy cover, well put together... But it's almost impossible to get on the umbrella, so 3 stars. The old cover had a built in "stick" so you could put the cover over the top, which is like 8 or 9 feet up. I mean how is someone supposed to get this umbrella cover over the top?? Luckily I temoved the stick from the old one. Planning to open a stitch up and modify this new one. It would be 5 stars if this had been included.

Not durable

Rather disappointed with the product as was paying more for better quality. Only survived 1 year and a half in Great Toronto Area. The top is totally broken only after 1.5 winter - bought July 2019 and broken Jan 2021. Also, missing an accessory to help put the cover over the top of the umbrella is another minus. Submitted a warranty claim via the manufacturer's website. Will see how the customer service turns out.

Difficult to put on!

Classic Accessories seems to think we live in the world of giants because this cover is a real pain to put on! You need a long ladder or a short ladder and something like a broom to put it on along with a bit of patience. Because the zipper doesn't unzip fully from top to bottom you need to 'flip' it onto the top of the umbrella. The quality isn't too bad but not super heavy duty and not super flimsy either. Also, the measurement for the bigger one states it 101" long but it's really 98.5". Mine was defective because it did not have both sides of the toggle to cinch the bottom, one side was sewn shut and so the cord for the toggle was only on the one side which makes it pointless so I sent it back. Putting on an umbrella cover should never be this taxing. I will be looking for something else that's easier to put on even if it costs a little more.

Great cover

May 2020. We purchased a square 10’x10’ umbrella. This cover fit great with room to spare. Easy to put on and off and no issues at all. Survived a lot of wind on the coast. Protected umbrella from elements and fading. UPDATE Apr 2023 - we took this umbrella out and it pretty well disintergrated. Rips abound, touch it and it seemed to dry up. Was stored completely dry and inside over the winter months yet it appeared to go past its expiration date. Disappointing.
