Got me going in an emergency
Potential buyers should know that there are both 80V and 120V ignitors. Many newer furnace control boards output 120V to the ignitor, which would probably lead to premature failure of this item. In my case, there was no information about ignitor voltage on furnace labels and only with great effort could I get that information from the manufacturer.

Trane 80
Cheapest I could find locally was $140, so I looked on Amazon and found this one not sure if it would fit or not, it arrived on time and took me10 minutes to install, it was less than 1/4 the price locally, I made a call to a local HVAC company and got an estimate of $480, it's been in a few months now and works perfectly

Perfect replacement for Trane XR 80 furnace!
Called the gas company to turn on the heat in my new home, and luckily for me they diagnosed the problem for me -- a busted ignitor they said. So instead of paying an HVAC outfit $400+ bucks to come out, diagnose it, and fix it, I pulled the old one out (took 2 minutes and a 1/4" socket), typed the part number into Amazon, and viola! Three days later it showed up, and my heat came right on. If I hadn't had the problem diagnosed, or had there been multiple part failures, it'd have never been this easy, so my case might be an exception rather than the rule. But if you know your ignitor is for sure the problem, or you know a thing or two about household repairs, you shouldn't have too much trouble. The only negative was that unlike the old ignitor, this one did not have the part number attached. When it inevitably goes out, I'll have to search through the annals of Amazon to find which part number, or remember to crawl up in the attic before then with a roll of masking tape and a Sharpie. That is until Amazon makes a dash button for this item....

The exact part I needed for under $35 to avoid a multi-hundred$ furnace repair call.
I checked online at a few places first to make sure I was ordering the correct part. This is important because various original brand manufacturers have been acquired or acquired other companies, so it's important you know your exact part dimensions, numbers, and alternative brand options that will fit what you require. The part was packed right, shipped quickly, in good quality condition, and exactly what I needed to fix my furnace. For under $35 and my time (I am very handy and comfortable with almost any property project), I saved at least a couple hundred dollars, based upon past emergency repairs of a similar nature at my rental homes using local HVAC contractors.

Got for a Backup!
I got this for a backup for a 15 year old furnace. It will be easy to replace when the time comes and now I'll be ready for a below zero night emergency repair, which is usually when they go bad! I had to have one replaced at my rental property by a furnace repairman and it cost me $130 for the part and $95 for labor, trip charge and tax. Next time it will only cost about $25 and 1/2 hour of my time.

Don't buy!
Should have read the reviews. Lasted for about a month. Bought another one from a furnace parts supplier online. Same price.
