Works great and fit perfectly even being a different shape.
Works great and fit perfectly. - I’ve come to learn these heater coils are pretty universal. What matters most is if you need 4.0kw or 5.5kw. The burnt up coil I replaced was a much different shape, however the electrical connections were the same as this unit. So I ordered this one and installed it in about 20-30 mins. My breaker stoped tripping and my hot tub was back up and running, heating up faster than before.... so far so good. I’ve come to learn also these heater coils simply break overtime and are really somewhat part of regular hot tub maintenance. If this lasts a year for me I would say it’s a fair game and an excellent price to fix a heater issue. FYI - I also found that the crazy long model or serial number of your heater and electrical unit under the hot tub contains the number dictating if you have a 4.0kw or 5.5kw. Long story short, some online research and a few basic tools and I saved myself $100s in a repair man service call. There are YouTube videos out there on how to disconnect the lines the simplest way to access, remove and replace the coil. You likely don’t need a whole heater tube, just the coil inside is the problem.... good luck !

Awesome
Wow, so at a fraction of the cost of an entire new heater this element can be installed in 2 additional minutes. Great product and it comes with the orings and new bolts.

replacement for Balboa 4kw
the YouTube videos with experts took about 15 minutes to perform the replacement. took me about an hour. next time i can probably do in 30 minutes. most of the time spent going to garage to get tools because i didn't' have a 1/4" open wrench and settled for needle nose pliers.

This item was a direct replacement for the heating element of my Balboa 58104 heater assembly
This heater element was a direct replacement for my Balboa 58104 spa heater. I installed it about 3 weeks ago and it is performing the same as the factory heater. Had I hired a repairman the entire heater assembly (stainless housing and heater element) would have been replaced at $220 plus labor (roughly another $200-250). For anybody with some mechanical skills and the ability to safely turn off the electricity to the spa, this was a moderately easy fix. I do recommend purchasing and replacing the gaskets on either side of the stainless heater housing (as recommended by Amazon in the "customers also purchased" when selecting the item for purchase). Even though my gaskets looked to be in pretty good condition, one or both have a small leak that wasn't initially evident but has since created visible wet drainage coming out from that side of the spa. When I finally tire of looking at the drainage I'll order and replace those gaskets. It will take me longer to unscrew and later screw in the spa side panels to access the shutoff valves and heater assembly than it will take me to replace the gaskets.

Great savings
Installing this voided my warranty on the heating element on my hot tub, but it should outlast the repairing warranty period anyway. It installed perfectly. The only thing I would recommend is getting a silicon gel lubricant for the flat washers when reassembling. You *CAN* go the the 5kW unit if your wiring going to your hot tub can handle the extra power. I live in a warm climate, so the extra power is not needed.

Whatever you do, DO NOT PURCHASE
I ordered this heating element due to shipping on time before easter, upon receiving I went straight out to assemble the heater upon putting together the cap where you screw the hot and cold wires popped off in my hand before a wrench of any kind was ever put on it Now I'm trying to see if epoxy will hold it long enough so I'm able to get thru the holiday and have already placed an order from someone else

Same as one I replaced on Balboa 4.0kw Heater
This was a good replacement for my heater that stopped working. However in a couple of days it started tripping my heater again. The elent did work for a few days and it heated great but I think my heater tube was actually also needing replacement too. I think if you have enought corrosion around these arts it's just better to replace the whole heater with element already installed.

Replacement for Balboa 58104 heater element
Fits the spa heater shown in the image ( 58104 ). It may need a slight bending to make sure it doesn’t hit the outer casing when installed. Comes with new seals and nuts for the electrical connections. Took longer to figure out how to turn the cutoff valves than it did to replace the heater element. Start to finish took maybe 20 minutes . Totally worth it. It has been 6 months and still working perfect.
