Works for me!

I've been using this "crown" piece on my 9100XX hood for over a year and, yes, the clips are on the flimsy side, but the crown doesn't add much weight to the hood itself, so it's a trade-off. Will they hold up? Yes they will. I'm not a shop-hand, either. I'm a Union Boilermaker that's constantly crawling in and out of cramped positions and the tightest spots possible in the dark, dirty bowels of coal-fired power plants, oil refineries, nukes, paper mills, etc. My hood gets subjected to the worst, from burning, to tight tube-welding to arc-gouging. There isn't anyone that can test their gear harder, so if it can stay on for me, it can stay on for anyone... unless, well... there will always be the one guy that can destroy his gear (or yours) with very little effort. It's a rare talent, but they're out there. I've had one side or the other slip off my hood, but the clips are flexible and I've just re-clipped that side back on the hood. I've yet to BREAK a clip. It does help keep some (not all) of the glare and reflections of other welders out, will help the fire roll off your head and I really like that it helps keep fly-ash and other dirt from getting all over me when it gets knocked loose from above. I've taken it off a few times to clean my hood and it's still working for me. Considering how much money this hood's made me, it's well worth it. I've had a lot of interest in it from other welders. Nobody's thought it was gimmicky, including me.

Doesn't seem to work with the hard hat adaptor.

I do love how this neck protection keeps spatter off my neck but it doesn't work well at all if your required to use the hard hat adaptor. The way the clips on the adaptor line up under the clips for the adaptor cause the clips to pop off constantly. I have been looking at modifying the clips to keep it on my adaptor since I'm required to wear a company issued hard hat 10 hours a day.

Great product

Love this product works perfect for neck protection, but I will say it is a little tricky to put the middle tap into the helmet, so that being said I would recommend taking your time on that and prevent breaking the plastic. Overall great experience with the product.

Too flimsy and waaaay too small

Just got this in yesterday and just got to class with it and went to put it on, first thing to happen, it got stuck and wouldn't go on right, should have been an indication that it was too small in the first place, but still I tried to get it on non the less. Didn't realize that AFTER it was on FULLY that you cannot take it off your helmet if it is too small for it. Going to have my instructor help me fix my helmet for now.... Buyers beware, doesnt work with a sentinel a50, which is what I use.

don't always like a cap on my head, this works grate seening how I was welding 4 G with flux core and didn't get a single burn threw on my neck or a mark on the product weird I don't know what its made out of but it is now four months old and no slag or beebees on it

Good and bad.

Feels like a good quality. But the tabs up by the ears are terrible and come off easy and then bug your ears. If you can leave your hood down for long periods of time it would be nice but i can't. I would have expected better from speedglas.

This thing is awesome

If you have a speedglass you owe this to yourself. This thing will protect you from sparks and other stuff from falling on your head. The hooks that come with it are not broken they are made like that so you can take them off and possibly wash your cap thing but make sure you put it in as one piece.

Wish it was longer, wider to block out light. Also not sure how the Velcro strap at the back goes with the helmet...
