Easy to use
They’re pretty easy to roll and narrow down even in the cold. Insertion and expansion is easy and complete since it’s tapered. Sound quality coming through is perfectly fine. No uncomfortable ear pressure or falling out.

Decent But Not Perfect...
The 3M Peltor Skull Screw foam tips offer a 29db noise reduction when used with the 3M Peltor Earbud Noise Isolating Headphones 2600N. The fit and finish is very similar to the standard, foam earplugs you can buy at any local pharmacy- except that the earphones attach to the wide section of the cone... When inserted correctly, these do offer noticeable noise isolation. And, music from the headphones does come in fairly clear. Background wind noise is still present at any freeway speeds- though these work better than anything else I've tried... The only 2 things that I don't like about this setup. First, the rod of the earphone itself inserts into the cone of the foam tip, which means a hard plastic screw-like projection actually inserts inside your ear. And, inside a helmet, it's not exactly 100% comfortable. Every helmet fits slightly differently, and as most people know, properly fitting helmets should be very snug. As such, the rubbing of the foam and earpiece on the inside of the ear does hurt a little if worn over an hour or so... Second, as with all foam earplugs, the suction created for the sound isolation is very sensitive. That is, even a gentle tug on the cables can change the snugness and/ or cause some leakage or suction differences. Even if inserted firmly and properly, it's still possible for micro movement to occur. Again, inside a snug helmet, this means sometimes moving around results in a slight change in pressure, which is annoying. This can cause one ear to have better sound isolation than the other and unequal music volume, and unequal sound isolation. Bottom-line is that thus far, I have not come across a better solution. But, the protruding ear stem into the foam and snugness inside a helmet does make this solution unfeasible for tighter-fitting helmets. It would work great, however, for non-full face helmets, like for cycling or what not. Not perfect for full-face lids though.

love everthing but the price :-)
I bought enough to last me to retirement. These have a high enough noise reduction 29-30 NNR for industrial locations. My company requires 24 or better. They have a small tube in the center that both helps push them in to the ear and feeds sound from ear buds in. I have very small ear canal and the foam plugs are a nightmare to get it. A little water or spit and they slide right in with a twist. They will last a couple weeks if you wash them. The ends will tater as they get used up. In my occupation if I don't answer call I can be fired, it cost them $1200/minute to have production down. My hearing is weak from years of abuse. I am a Yankee living in appalachia. I love the people but struggle understanding the language. I needed a way to hear better. I first used these on regular ear buds with a piece of clear tube. Latter I started using them on products from Rapid Radio that use a hearing aid transducer and a mono audio plug. Oh My Gosh. I get the sound in both ears without the noise (if you put them in tight these babies really cut the noise) people in the room are all scratching their heads asking what did he say, I always know better than they do. Aside from the dollar to Two dollar price each, the only problem is you will need to back them out to hear someone next to you talking.

Best noise canceling ear plug for the Peltor system!
Wet the tip, insert and screw into the ear canal. Yes, they will drive all the way in and when in provide excellent noise suppression. I use the Peltor system when riding motorcycles. It allows me to hear everything around me while suppressing loud engine, and wind noises protecting my hearing. Oddly, I can easily hear conversations nearby at stops in the city with my full face helmet visor up. I cannot hear these same conversations when bare eared. The binaural aspect allows me to determine the direction of noise somewhat like being bare eared, although the helmet does interfere somewhat with this. However, I can usually understand from which direction emergency vehicles are coming. I liked the smaller foam earplugs which came with the Peltor devices, but they have become difficult to find, so I switched to the Skull Screws. The Skull Screws provide better dB reduction and make it easier to hear the allowed through noise. A very durable product, I clean once in a while and expect each earplug to last a month or more (I ride 100+ miles per day on average). Strong recommend, good product, good fit if correctly inserted, great dB reduction, good to great durability.

Work great for me.
I will agree that the Skull Screws are initially difficult to insert. I had the same issue, and was ready to give up, but I perservered. Pinching and rolling the Skull Screw to compress and make them easier to insert will help, as will wetting and gently pressing and wiggling while directing them inwards. It still takes me some time to insert a fresh pair, but the time expended is worth it. The noise reduction, comfort and when combined with the EEP-100 sound quality is almost as good as the $1000+ custom molded you can buy for a fraction of the cost. I've had the custom electronic plugs, and the Peltor/3M EEP-100s with the Skull Screws are a better value.

These are S-U-P-E-R!!!
I purchased these for use on my E-A-R Peltor hearing protection earbuds, as a replacement to the silicone triple-flange tips. These are comfortable, very good at noise isolation, allowing me to listen to music at relatively low volumes, even in very noisy environments. Highly recommended - will definitely purchase again!
